On October 5th, NCSU director, Thomas Smith, gave an invited presentation on design-based implementation research to the National Board for Education Sciences, the governing board of IES, in Washington, DC. Dr. Smith’s presentation is informed by his leadership of the design-based research efforts currently underway at the National Center for Scaling Up Effective Schools.
